Professional composer and classically trained pianist, Kate Paape’s music takes the listener on an emotional storytelling journey with riveting melodies and a flair for orchestration. Kate’s music has been described as having rhythmic vitality, soaring melodies, and French influences of the romantic era. Kate’s strongest influences are Rimsky-Korsakov, Shostakovich, Debussy, Gershwin, and Ennio Morricone. 

Kate has written for solo instruments, small ensembles, orchestra, and film. Her work for chamber orchestra received the Mullen Prize for sacred music in 2022. Additionally, Kate is proficient in orchestration (Sibelius and Finale), arranging, and DAW sequencing (Logic). Equipped with a superior work ethic and passionate about growing and learning new styles, Kate is committed to help create the best possible version of your project – collaborating with team members and implementing all revisions.

Kate Paape studied composition at the University of Wisconsin-Madison with Laura Schwendinger and Les Thimmig. She studied composition for visual media with Penka Kouneva.
